Catch up

As most of you reading this already know, Caitlin and I (Eric) are currently preparing for our future work with the people of Turkana in Northern Kenya. We will indeed be working in the same area as I spent my previous year. However, our focus this time around is quite different. After working with aquaponics, seeing it’s potential in the field and visualizing the life giving waters flowing in the desert from the hand drilled wells from our Turkana team, I looked around at those taking advantage of  the wells and those interested in the mechanics of aquaponics. Many of them were children and many of them should be in school. In fact most wanted to be, but they did not have the opportunity.

While working with the Turkana previously I got involved with a child sponsorship program that was still in it’s infancy.  We were able to update the Children’s bios and their photos in our current program and I was even blessed with adding new children into the program. I got to know a few of the children pretty well and my name changed quickly from “Mzungu” (“white guy”) to just plain old Eric. While spending time at the school we support in a nearby village I would often find myself overwhelmed by all the potential in the room with me.  What if all of these children were not only given the opportunity to study and receive an education, but they also found their place in the Kingdom? What could this mean for the future of Kenya? What about the future of the world?

Pondering the answers of questions like these is what gets Cait and me excited about living and working amongst the Turkana!  While there we will be working with the indigenous people on improving and expanding the program mentioned above.  There is a lot of work to be done to be sure, but we are excited to see what will come of the labor we plan to put forth.

We are currently stateside working on developing relationships and building up prayer and financial partners to work alongside with us in our mission. If you would like any information on how to contact us, pray for us, or support us financially please contact us. We’d love to show you how you can impact one of these child’s lives for Christ.

Love and Blessings,

Eric Pitts
